Light Night Wigan is a free family friendly light art festival sited in the beautiful historic Mesnes Park in Wigan in the North of England. The festival has grown over the years from its first incarnation by the canal to expanding into this large park as appetite for the work has increased. Local people are very proud of the festival now and include it in their annual winter plans. Curated and produced by Things That go On Things, Light Night Wigan aims to bring joy, wonder, thought provoking work and entertainment with a range of local, national and international artists included in the programme. The theme for the 2024 festival is SURFACE and the curation often includes links to the Greenheart of Wigan, the fact that the borough is the greenest borough in Greater Manchester in size, and the work presented often has an environmental link.
